FAQ & Policies
Is psychoanalytic therapy the right fit for me?
Are you stuck on a hamster wheel of repeating patterns that you can't seem to change? Are you looking for a deeper, more intuitive understanding of yourself? Through this work, we will uncover what anxieties and unclaimed parts of yourself are projected into others and help you fully reclaim your true self. This difficult and rewarding work is effective for complex and long-lasting change.
Where are you located?
I see clients in-person at 1015 Fremont Ave in South Pasadena. This location is generally accessible to the Northeast Los Angeles area, specifically San Marino, Pasadena, Eagle Rock, Highland Park, Silver Lake, or Echo Park. Street parking is easy and accessible.
I also see children as young at 3 years old in Sherman Oaks at 15235 Burbank Blvd. This office is right off of 405 and 101 interchange and is only a short drive from Van Nuys, Lake Balboa, Encino, and Valley Glen. We have a free parking lot in front of the office.
What is your fee?
For a 50 minute session, my full fee is $175 for individuals and $200 for couples, paid by cash, check, or Zelle. I also maintain a 48-hour cancellation policy and will charge for sessions canceled less than 48 hours before our session time.
I reserve a portion of my practice for sliding scale clients. If you are interested in my services, please reach out and we can discuss the fee. If I am not able to accommodate a rate that feels sustainable for you, I am happy to offer refferals.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance, but you may be able to receive reimbursement from your insurer if you have a PPO plan. I would be considered an "out of network provider." I will provide an invoice at the end of each month, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
I suggest you research your plan's benefits and consider calling your insurer to ask the following questions:
-
How much of the cost is covered for a therapy session with an out-of-network provider?
-
What is my deductible and how much of this deductible have I met?
-
What is my co-pay or co-insurance for mental health sessions?
-
Is there a limit to how many sessions per year are covered under my plan?
Why should I choose you to be my therapist?
I love this work and I work hard for my clients. I frequently use metaphors or symbolic descriptions to aid in our understanding, and I have found that this helps me work especially well with visual learners or creatives. Also, I am plainspoken about complicated therapeutic concepts to make therapy approachable, so I frequently work with first time therapy-goers or people who are dipping their toe into deeper therapeutic work. My work with children is informed by my work with adults and my work with adults is always informed by my work with children, and I love working with "old soul" kids and playful adults.
